HUB13 Arts competition. Poetry.
This competition is open to all persons from 7-11, living within approximately a seven mile radius of Newtownmountkennedy.
Poetry Category Two
12-16 years.
The critically acclaimed judges are Breda Wall Ryan, Eithne Hand and Carol Boland.
Poetry Entry
Poems in English written up to 30 lines are welcome. No specific theme is being promoted. Let your imagination run wild.
Entry is free and limited to two poems per person. Entry is preferred by using the form below.

Entry Conditions
- All entries must be the original work of a living person.
- Entries must not have been previously published, self—published or published on a website or broadcast.
- The poems must not exceed 30 lines, typed and emailed not hand-written on one side of paper only.
- The poem(s) should be included in the entry.
- 2 Artworks max per entrant.
- The name of the entrant or identifying remarks must not appear on the poem itself.
- A separate sheet of paper must include the name and contact details of the poet or it will be disqualified immediately.
- No canvassing is allowed. This will immediately disqualify the entrant.
- No alterations can be made to the poem once it has been submitted and no entries can be returned.

- The judges’ decision is final and no correspondence can be entered regarding those decisions. The closing date is 26th May 2020.
- The winner and the prizes will be announced and awarded during Newtownmountkennedy Fesfival hopefully in June 2020.
- A shortlist will be contacted 2 weeks prior to this event.
- Short listed poets will be asked to read some of their work if possible live or recorded.
- Copyright will remain with the poet but HUB13, Newtown2050 and Newtownmountkennedy Tidy Towns reserves the right to reuse the entries for publication or broadcast of selected poems as it sees fit.
- The winning entries will be exhibited and asked to perform at a one off night at HUB13 Co Working Spaces. www.hub13.ie
- Submission of an poem implies the competitor’s acceptance of the conditions set out above.

Prizes.
Winning entry will be read by the poet if desired on local media.
Poems published on our web page.
A prize fund of up to €150 which will be allocated after competition results.
The 4 runners up will be given special mention and published on HUB13’s web page.
